Subsequent generic formulations have been available since 2003 when the patent expired.\u00a0 Paroxetine\u00a0is available on prescription in either tablet or liquid drop form which you take with water.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It usually takes 4\u00a0to 6\u00a0weeks for Paroxetine to work<\/li>\n<li>Check with your doctor before starting to take Paroxetine if you are trying to become pregnant, or plan to discontinue it if you&#8217;re already pregnant or you are breastfeeding<\/li>\n<li>Take Paroxetine once a day.\u00a0You can take\u00a0it\u00a0with or without food<\/li>\n<li>If you\u00a0have epilepsy &#8211; Paroxetine can increase your seizures so tell your doctor<\/li>\n<li>If you have an eye problem called glaucoma tell your doctor because Paroxetine can increase eye pressure<\/li>\n<li>If you have\u202fdiabetes,\u202fParoxetine can make it more difficult to keep your blood sugar stable. With Paroxetine in liquid form, 10ml is the equivalent to\u00a0a 20mg tablet.<\/p>\n<p><b>When: <\/b>Take Paroxetine once a day, in the morning.\u00a0It&#8217;s best to take it with food so it doesn&#8217;t upset your tummy.<\/p>\n<p><b>Child dose: <\/b>Not recommended for children.<\/p>\n<p><b> Adult dose<\/b>: The initial dose for adults is 20mg daily increased in gradual steps of 10\u202fmg to 40\u202fmg daily. A drug\\u2019s half-life matters because a short half-life usually means more withdrawal problems compared to  a long half-life. If you only remember during the night, or the next day, leave out the missed dose and carry on as usual the next day.<\/p>\n<p><b> Drug interactions<\/b>: Don&#8217;t take St John&#8217;s wort, the herbal remedy, while you are taking Sertraline as this will increase your risk of side effects.<\/p>\n<p><b>Pregnancy and Breast Feeding<\/b>: It&#8217;s important for you and your baby that you stay well during your pregnancy.
